This modern, well-designed apartment block offers people on fixed, low and moderate incomes affordable housing in a prime inner city location alongside other Docklands residents and workers.

It provides key workers with quality housing within easy access of transport and jobs and has 7 disability units with customised bathrooms and kitchens.

The 8-storey development with a nautical design theme comprises 85 units, which Housing Choices Australia owns and manages. The development also includes 28 units sold to the private market. The 5 star NABERS energy rated building was partly funded by the Department of Human Services.

This modern, well-designed apartment block offers people on fixed, low and moderate incomes affordable housing in an inner suburb where unit dwellings are in short supply and high demand as the makeup of families in the area changes.

It also provides key workers with quality housing within easy access of transport and jobs.

The 3-storey development comprises 44 units on a 2,425m2 site, which Housing Choices Australia owns and manages. It is adjacent to an existing public housing estate of some 40 units. The development was funded under the Nation Building Social Housing Initiative.

The Merchant, Docklands     

The Merchant offers quality affordable housing for Melbourne's low income, moderate income and key workers, assisting these people to live closer to their employment. This means less time commuting to and from work, ensuring they can stay in the jobs that are essential to the running of our city.

The eight-storey development includes 133 apartments and ground floor retail space. Housing Choices Australia owns and manages 57 of these units with the remainder being sold to private market. The Housing Choices properties are a mix of one and two-bedroom units including three disability modified units.

Housing Choices Australia worked with a range of development partners on this project including:

  • Department of Human Services.

Drill Hall, Melbourne

The restoration of the heritage-listed 1937 Royal Melbourne Drill Hall will benefit residents and the wider community. This modern, high quality apartment block offers people on fixed low incomes and some with disabilities affordable housing in the inner city.

The 8-storey development comprises of 59 units owned and managed by Housing Choices Australia, a community health service and the restoration of the hall for community festivals and activities.

The 5 star energy rated development was funded under the Nation Building Social Housing Initiative. Housing Choices Australia worked with a range of partners on this project including:

  • City of Melbourne
  • Sidney Myer Foundation
  • Department of Human Services
  • Icon Construction
